  • Skate Legend Daewon Song Officially Ends Partnership with Torey Pudwill, Leaves Thank You

    Photo: Seu Trinh

    Word finally broke that skateboarding legend Daewon Song is out of Thank You  Skateboards, and the whole thing is basically done.Their website doesn’t have any options for buying products, no teams, and is just a landing page with Song’s photo.Their socials had a last post on August 20, 2025 with David Reyes joining Zero Skateboards, Gustavo Ribeiro and Danny Hamaguchi no longer had Thank You tags on their bios.Sources close to ShreddER said that the brand is no longer in business, but both Song and T-Puds kept quiet.That changed when one of our day one supporters, abrahammayorga, sent over a screenshot of Song’s Instagram story. Because it was a story, it vanished fast, so a lot of skaters did not even get the chance to see it. But it was legit. The Skateboarding Hall of Famer himself said he was done.  He wrote that he was riding his last Thank You board and gave props to Torey, saying he’s one of the hardest grinders he’s ever rolled with. Then he showed mad love to everyone who had his back over the years. It wasn’t salty or smoke, just him keeping it real and closing that chapter.

    The sad reality is that this hits a lot of skaters in the chest. Song has tried multiple brands throughout his career. Deca, Artafact, Almost, and then Thank You. Each one was built with passion and creativity but the world of skateboarding can be cold. Sometimes companies fade even when the talent behind them is legendary. Now that Song is out, T-Puds is standing alone with the brand’s name but no real structure around it anymore. Recently he has been skating blank boards and not showing any sign of repping Thank You. That alone already tells a story. It feels like the lights are off and the door is closed even if nobody spelled it out in a formal statement.From here T-Puds has options but nothing is guaranteed.He might rebuild something new from the ground up. He might chill for a while and just skate without worrying about running a company.Or he might pop up with a different crew altogether. T-Puds has always kept people guessing so nobody knows until he speaks.Meanwhile Song pulled up at the Crail Couch recently. Skaters think he might land at Girl or Chocolate. It makes sense considering the history and the respect he has with that whole circle.Nothing is confirmed but the streets love to speculate, and it would not feel strange seeing him roll with them.Even though Thank You might be done, nobody can deny what Song and T-Puds brought to it. Two heavy hitters building something from their own inspiration andtrying to give the scene something awesome.The skate world is crowded right now with too many board companies trying to stay alive in a market that gets more stacked every year.Some stick around and some disappear fast. Thank You had a solid run and meant a lot to the people who connected with it.No one knows if the two will link again someday or if they will stay on separate paths for good.Right now they are moving in their own directions and focusing on what feels right for them. The community is watching closely because both of them have too much history and too much skill to ever fade out of the conversationWhatever they choose next, core heads will pay attention. Skaters grow up on these two. They shaped the culture in different ways. And even if Thank You is finished, the impact they left together is not going anywhere.

  • Lil Wayne No Longer a Pro Skater for Thank You After T-Puds and Daewon Song Close the Brand

    @Instagram.com/liltunechi

    Lil Wayne is no longer a professional skateboarder for Thank You  Skateboards after the brand reportedly shut down following the split between Torey Pudwill and Daewon Song.As we previously reported, skater rapper Lil Wayne officially turned professional for Torey Pudwill and Daewon Song’s Thank You Skateboards brand.He joined skaters like T-Puds, Daewon Song, and other pros, and was hyped about making it official.The crew even pulled up to Paul Rodriguez’s private skatepark to celebrate, skating, kicking it, and just enjoying the moment together.Since going pro, Lil Wayne has been out on the streets skating hard while also focusing on his music. That grind helped Tha Carter VI reach number one on Apple Music.Portable speakersYou already know that he’s not just messing around. He’s really living both sides of it, showing that skating is as much a part of him as dropping tracks in the studio.According to sources close to ShreddER, Thank You Skateboards allegedly shut down with David Reyes joining Zero Skateboards with Gustavo Ribeiro, and Danny Hamaguchi doesn’t have Thank You Skateboards on his bio anymore. The brand has reportedly come to an end.That means Lil Wayne doesn’t have a pro board with his name out anymore.Even with that news, he’s still skating as a free agent, still making music, and still hitting spots with the same love for skating he’s always had.This opens the door for him to link up with another team, start his own board company, or just skate for fun like he used to before going pro.Without a current team backing him, Lil Weezy seems locked in, doing what he loves, showing that the streets and the studio can coexist, and proving that skating and rap music are both a part of who he is.

  • TONY HAWK CALLING TOM SCHAAR THE FUTURE OF VERT AND THE CLEAR CHOICE FOR 2025 SKATER OF THE YEAR

    Everyone’s been going crazy over Tony Hawk’s latest post about Tom Schaar, and honestly it makes sense. Tony basically said that after all the insane street clips we’ve seen this year, Tom is the one who completely changed the game for vert. He’s calling Tom’s skating some of the most creative and next-level stuff since the Danny Way and Bob Burnquist era — and that’s huge.People are loving how Tony describes Tom’s style: calm but powerful, smooth but still sending massive tricks that nobody else is even thinking about. And the wild part? Tony says Tom’s inspiring a whole new wave of skaters around the world to hit ramps and bowls for the first time. After Tom’s recent part — which dropped less than a week ago — Tony thinks he’s pushing vert into a whole new future, even going over Bob’s 28-foot quarter like it’s nothing. According to Tony, “The Tom Train” is moving at full speed and looking unstoppable… and that’s why he’s his pick for 2025 Skater of the Year.

  • Independent Trucks has officially shaken the skate world again with a new clip featuring Chris Joslin unleashing a monster tre flip down the legendary El Toro 20-stair.

    Independent Trucks has officially shaken the skate world again with a new clip featuring Chris Joslin unleashing a monster tre flip down the legendary El Toro 20-stair. If you’ve followed skate history, you already know El Toro isn’t just a spot — it’s a proving ground. The giant California stair set has broken boards, bones, and dreams for decades, and only the most fearless skaters even consider stepping to it. In the post, you can see the filmer setting up at the bottom while Joslin, calm as ever, rolls up to the top of the infamous set. No hesitation, no warm-up, just pure commitment. The moment he snaps the board, you already know it’s about to go down. The board spins perfectly under him, bolts, and he rolls away like it’s nothing. A textbook Joslin hammer. Independent Trucks captioned it with: “🔥 Tre Flip down The Bull – 149 Titaniums 💪 #RideTheBest” — a reminder that the trucks holding this madness together were their 149 Titaniums, built for exactly this kind of punishment. Skaters in the comments are calling it: “One of the cleanest tre flips ever done down that set.” “Joslin doing Joslin things.” “Proof that Titaniums can take ANY impact.” “El Toro is officially scared now.” It’s one of those clips that instantly gets shared around — the type that makes skaters stop what they’re doing, replay it five times, and say, “No way he just did that.” Whether you’re a Joslin fan, an Indy Trucks loyalist, or just someone who loves seeing history get pushed further, this post is one for the books.

  • Torey Pudwill & Daewon Song’s Thank You Skateboards Shuts Down: Sources

    Credit: The Nine Club; ShreddER

    Thank You Skateboards has allegedly wrapped things up, according to multiple sources close to the scene.

    The brand’s final social media activity goes back to August 20, 2025, when they shared their King Of The Hill collaboration.After that point, things went quiet and the slowdown became hard to ignore.The strange part is that the brand was still putting out footage earlier on. They had guest boards like the Cairo Foster release and fresh faces joining the team.Riders such as Gustavo Ribeiro and Danny Hamaguchi remained active and helped keep attention on the brand. However, neither currently lists Thank You Skateboards on their bios.Even so, skateboarders noticed that Daewon Song had been missing.His last appearance on their social feed was on March 7, 2025. After that date he no longer showed up with the crew.According to a source who spoke with ShreddER, Song was reportedly no longer involved with the brand, leaving many to assume Torey Pudwill was handling most of the activity on his own.As the brand slowed down, more signs began to surface.Pro skateboarder David Reyes decided to leave and link up with Jamie Thomas and the Zero crew. People familiar with the situation said he stepped away because they believed the company might be winding down.Around the same time, Pudwill was seen riding blank boards and he stopped tagging the brand online, which strengthened the feeling among skaters and insiders that something had changed behind the scenes.As previously reported, Song recently appeared on Crail Couch with the Girl and Chocolate crew.The episode brought him back onto fans’ radar after the show’s long break from producing episodes.Many skaters began guessing that he might end up with Girl or Chocolate, since he is currently a free agent and appears open to whatever comes next.Song also no longer lists Thank You Skateboards on his bio, which suggests he may have already moved on without an official hard post announcement.Skateboard component salesThank You Skateboards had a strong place in the culture, and the idea of Pudwill and Song teaming up meant a lot to skaters.With the brand reportedly closing, people are hoping that Pudwill finds a new place to ride for, possibly starts something fresh or redbrand Thank You.Everyone is also watching to see if Song eventually joins the Crailtap family.No matter how things play out, both pro skaters already stamped their names in the game, and the community is still rocking with them wherever they go next.

  • FTP x Reebok Skate Shoes Coming Soon That Reveal a Secret F*ck The Population Design as You Shred

    @Instagram.com/ftpleaks

    FTP is really moving in with this skate thing for real.

    They already had everybody watching back in 2022 when they dropped that “NOT A SKATE VIDEO.” That whole thing felt like some raw Baker type project, nothing clean or polished, just clips straight from the street.Crazy part is Zack himself doesn’t even skate but somehow FTP ended up with one of the hardest names in the game when Antwuan Dixon got down with them.The second Dixon was on board the whole scene had to pay attention.Now FTP linking up with Reebok for some skate shoes and they’re not just doing a regular sneaker drop. These got layers built in. When you skate them the first look breaks down and another FTP design starts showing through.It is like the shoes get louder the more you actually put them to use. That makes sense too because skaters never keep their shoes clean. Once you put in the work, they look better beat up, and FTP already lives in that attitude of not caring how it looks as long as it is real.Zack always been on that street mentality with FTP with no pretending, and just doing whatever feels right. So having Dixon on the skate side feels organic.Dixon has always been one of those dudes everybody respected on a board, so making him part of the brand makes it feel more official.Once these hit the streets, everybody’s going to want to see if they really hold up. FTP heads will cop them quick no question.But if the shoe feels good to skate and that second layer design comes through the way they say it will, then FTP and Reebok might end up with one of the hardest skate collabs in a minute.
